The My Safe Florida Home (MSFH) program just got a major boost—$280 million in new funding from the 2025 Florida Legislature. Inspection & Grant Details
Free Wind-Mitigation Inspection
Available to single-family, owner-occupied, site-built homes with homestead exemption
Not available for condos, mobile homes, rentals, or second homes (My Safe Florida Home, Florida Realtors)
Matching Grants for Upgrades
Up to $10,000, reimbursing two-thirds of qualified work
Full grant (no match needed) available for low-income homeowners
For others, the home must be valued at $700,000 or less and built before 2008
Final inspection required to secure reimbursement (Florida Realtors, Florida Realtors)
Who’s First in Line?
As of July 1, the program prioritizes four homeowner groups:
Low-income + age 60+
Low-income (all ages)
Moderate-income + age 60+
Moderate-income (all ages) (My Safe Florida Home)
Grants are awarded first-come, first-served, so completing the portal questionnaire early is key to securing funding.
